The week includes flag ceremonies, fireworks, military parades and sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>Many people travel to visit family, placing considerable pressure on Chinese infrastructure. Offices, factories and government departments close during this period, which has a substantial effect on logistics. Port facilities remain operational, but at reduced capacity.
