At the start of the year, terminal operators ECT Delta and ECT Euromax introduced two new charges: a climate tariff and a peak-spreading surcharge. Both are charged for each terminal visit. The climate tariff forms part of the sustainability programme and is €2.50 per truck per visit.
Electric and zero-emission trucks are exempt. The €13.50 peak-spreading surcharge is intended to reduce congestion and applies to every truck visiting the terminals on weekdays between 05:00 and 19:00. DP World in Antwerp also introduced a €14 surcharge from 20 May.
